Emily Hahn is a singer songwriter from Rhode Island. She has a wide range of influences including folk, country, and rock, but most reflected in her music are 90s and 2000s alternative and pop. Emily grew up playing and singing in Massachusetts, starting with piano lessons at age 5, picking up guitar in high school, and singing acapella in college. She started singing along at her friends at gigs in 2015 and has performed with acoustic duo Hedge and 90s cover band Rear View Mirror. She currently performs as a solo acoustic artist and in the acoustic-electric duo The Pickups, and you can find her continuing to jump in at her friend’s shows!
Her debut album ‘Wake’ was released September 22, 2018, which contains the single ‘Impatient’. Emily performs vocals and acoustic guitar on the album. It was recorded and mixed by Mark Beauchemin from 2017 to 2018, and also features him on electric guitar, bass, keys, and percussion. Drums were performed by Doug Murray. Two of the songs on ‘Wake’ were previously recorded on an EP which Emily self recorded during high school.
Emily released her second album, ‘Fragments’, on May 28, 2021, which was also recorded by Mark Beauchemin. In addition to vocals and guitar, she plays piano on two tracks. Drums were performed by Doug Murray, Bass on Bigger Picture by John Nichols, and Bass and all other instruments by Mark Beauchemin.
